A Long Time Ago, During the Clone Wars: "Storm Over Ryloth," "Innocents of Ryloth" & "Liberty On Ryloth"

 Star Wars The Clone Wars

We are basically done with this long stretch of season one after this post, which is good. "The Clone Wars" really hits its stride and becomes a little less repetitive once it moves into season 2 and beyond and season 1 ends on a relative high note.

"In the Name of the Moon" Re-watch: "Crushing on Ami: The Boy Who Can See the Future" & "The Painting of Love: Usagi and Mamoru Get Closer"

Sailor Moon

For an early '90's teen girl anime, "Sailor Moon" takes a relatively slow burn approach to its main love story. Sure, Sailor Moon immediately has the hots for Tuxedo Mask, but Usagi Tsukino and Mamoru Chiba have a hate/hate relationship for quite a while. But we start to see a bit of a thaw here.

"I Am the Night" Re-watch: "Cult of the Cat" & "Animal Act"

 The New Batman Adventures

I love when these episodes have some sort of theme that connects them, even if it is a loose theme. That is what these two have. It's all about animals. Good times.

"The Truth Is Out There" Re-Watch: "E.B.E." & "Miracle Man"

 The X-Files

We have another mythology episode this time so if you are a mythology fan you are probably pretty excited. If you aren't, well it's just one, so you'll make it through just fine I'm sure.

Re-Visiting the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Spider-Man: Far From Home

 "Spider-Man: Far From Home" (2019)

"Captain America: Civil War" and "Spider-Man: Homecoming" brought Spider-Man in to the MCU and the first Spidey sequel has a pretty distinguished place in the MCU. It is the first movie post "Endgame" and it closes out Phase 3 of the MCU. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was also the last Marvel property until "WandaVision" premiered in January.

Principal photography on "Spider-Man: Far From Home" began in July 2018 and concluded in October 2018. The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Zendaya as MJ, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Jon Favreau as Harold "Happy" Hogan, J.B. Smoove as Julius Dell, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Martin Starr as Roger Harrington, Marisa Tomei as May Parker and Jake Gyllenhaal as Quentin Beck/Mysterio. The film was written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. It was directed by Jon Watts. "Spider-Man: Far From Home" was released on July 2, 2019.

Into the DC Murderverse: "Aquaman"

 "Aquaman" (2018)

If you're a fan of the DC character, Arthur Curry also known as the king of Atlantis, Aquaman, I'm sure the first person that you think of is the same guy that played Khal Drogo in "Game of Thrones." I kid, I kid. There was a time when Aquaman had long hair and a hook hand so maybe that is what they were thinking of when they cast him. Who knows? Most likely they were thinking here is a likable, popular actor who would put butts in seats. And here we are. It is interesting that Aquaman is getting a movie before The Flash or even Batfleck getting a solo film. We are a long way from jokes about talking to fish and how lame it is.

Principal photography on "Aquaman" began in May 2017 and concluded in October 2017. The film stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm Marius/Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as David Kane/Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Randall Park as Stephen Shin and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna. The film was written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall. It was directed by James Wan. "Aquaman" was released on December 21, 2018.

A Long Time Ago, During the Clone Wars: "Blue Shadow Virus" & "Mystery of a Thousand Moons"

 Star Wars The Clone Wars

Anytime there is a show about war, even a cartoon show, there is always an episode or more that deals with an ideologue for Dr. Josef Mengele. Mengele was known as the Angel of Death at Auschwitz. He was a monster, performing grotesque experiments on the Jewish people imprisoned there. I'm not sure why this has become a recognizable pattern, but now it's time for "The Clone Wars" to do their mad scientist, Mengele ideologue episodes.

"In the Name of the Moon" Re-watch: "Jupiter, the Powerful Girl In Love" & "Restore Naru's Smile: Usagi's Friendship"

 Sailor Moon

More Sailor Scouts!! If I have one complaint about the first season, there is way too much time spent gathering the girls together. The charm of "Sailor Moon" is watching the girls friendship and seeing how they form these bonds. So, I'm excited that after these episodes we are just down one.

"I Am the Night" Re-watch: "Mean Seasons" & "Critters"

 Batman The Animated Series

One thing I love about "Batman: The Animated Series/The New Batman Adventures" is that they tackle issues that you don't normally see on animated shows. They usually handle them very well. And then there are those times that they don't...
